Event tourism in Armenia has started booming in recent years. The shish kebab festival in the north of Armenia, the festival of honey and berries and many other events have become favorites among locals and guests of the capital. They should definitely be seen as part of our special festival tour.
Upon arrival in Yerevan, well known for its hospitality, our employee will meet you at the airport with a sign "PARTNER TRAVEL". On the way to the hotel, the manager will tell about the specifics of our tour and the whole rest in Armenia, as well as answer all your questions regarding the next few days. After checking into the hotel, you will have several hours at your disposal to rest after the flight. Further, in the lobby you will be waited by the guide, with whom you will go on a walking tour along the main streets of Yerevan and get acquainted with the main sights of the capital. We will see such sights as the Cascade (Art Museum - Cafesjian Center for the Arts), the observation deck with a beautiful view of the city and the biblical Mount Ararat, walk along the Northern Avenue, look at the very square where “singing fountains” play in the evenings - Republic Square.
We will spend the next 2 days in Tavush region, which is considered to be the “lungs” of Armenia: about 50% of the country's forest resources are located here. We will take part in the two-day event and understand what event tourism in Armenia is like - the festival of honey and berries in the city of Berd. We will immediately plunge into the national culture, life and nature of Armenia. Here you can try and buy local honey and berries in all their diversity and forms, as well as authentic national handmade products. The festival will begin with a jazz concert, there will be games with dances and, of course, all the gifts of local nature and the results of the works of the Tavush residents will be presented. There will be no time to get bored!

We are returning to the capital. On this day, we have to get to know Yerevan closer. We will start with a visit to the monumental cultural complex Cascade. From modern architecture and art, we will move on to antiquity and visit the Matenadaran Institute of Manuscripts, where guests will understand the significance of a book for Armenian culture. Then we will visit Ararat brandy factory with mandatory wine tasting and the very brandy that Churchill highly appreciated. The next destination will be the house-museum of the famous painter Martiros Saryan, whose life and work are closely connected with Russia. Then we will go to the Republic Square and go to the Museum of History of Armenia, where you will learn a lot about the country and the people.
We had breakfast and we go on, a day of contrasts awaits us. Grandpa Levon's Cave - a network of tunnels under an unremarkable house, which was created by the hands of one person for 23 years! The next point is the Charents arch. This is a monument to the Armenian poet - Yeghishe Charents. The arch is installed in a place from which views open, it seems, to the whole nature of Armenia and, of course, the magnificent, majestic Ararat. Next, we will go to Garni, the only pagan temple preserved in Armenia. We will look at the so-called “symphony of stones” - the six-sided basalt rock formations. After that, we will take part in a master class in baking lavash and will be able to try baking it ourselves. Next, we will have a real Armenian dinner (shish kebab, kabab, etc.) Then we will go to Geghard Monastery - an amazing example of medieval architecture, part of which is carved right in the rock.
Today is the day of healing drinks. First, we get to the city of Jermuk. We will see the 68-meter high Jermuk waterfall - a complex of mineral springs, and will certainly taste the water from these places. Then, we will continue to improve our health in the village of Areni, where the best variety of grape of the same name grows for high-quality wine. After a tour of the winery and wine tasting, we will have lunch at a nearest restaurant. In the evening, we will return to Yerevan.
We leave for Sevan - the largest freshwater lake in the region. This is an indescribable beauty azure water surface, framed with mountains. Here we will see the medieval monastery of Sevanavank. Next, we head to Dilijan. Dilijan has a national park, and the city itself is so beautiful that it seems as if you are in the reserve. We will reach yet another lake, Parz Lake. However, here you will see something very different - peace and serenity. Lunch will be held on the lake in the open air, away from the city and noise. In the evening, we will arrive in Yerevan.
For today it is scheduled to visit architectural monuments from different periods of the Middle Ages. The first is Ohanavank (5th-14th centuries), and the second is Sagmosavank (13th century). Ohanavank impresses with its location. It literally looms over the abyss. From the edge of the cliff, it offers a magnificent view of the gorge. Saghmosavank has a very unique location on the edge of the canyon. Photos on the background of this landscape may turn out such as if you are floating in the air. In the year of the celebration of the 16th century of the Armenian writing (2005) giant letters of the alphabet were installed. We will also see this monument along the way. Next, we will go to the city of Vanadzor, where we will stay for the night.
We continue to study the regions of Armenia. Now we are going to Lori. We will visit the picturesque village Dsekh - the birthplace of the poet, writer and public figure Hovhannes Tumanyan. Those who wish can have an extra shot of adrenaline- a couple of tens of kilometers of rafting on the Debed River. This will be a shake-up! After sport events on water, we will return to the cultural and history part and go to Odzun Monastery, which is one of the most beautiful early medieval buildings in Armenia. For the night, we will stay in the city of Alaverdi.
So, the shish barbecue festival! It will be a real feast, then for sure you will see the skills of Armenian culinary specialists, all the variety of tastes, designs and traditions of cooking shish kebabs. This will truly be the fatty 😉 point of our journey! Everyone will be able to join the culture of cooking shish kebabs and try on their own. In the evening after the festival, we will return to Yerevan.
On the final day of our trip, we will go to the atmospheric Vernissage market in Yerevan, where you can find everything, from jewelry to carpets. And after gifts and souvenirs are bought for your relatives and friends, the driver will kindly take everyone to the airport and will not lose anyone on the way.
